Athletics

Little Athletics is a fantastic, family friendly, affordable sport for children aged 3 to 17 years of age.

The summer season runs from around the middle of September to the middle of March and consists of 5 or 6 events held each week, generally on a Saturday morning on our club grounds, based on a range of track and field events – running, jumping, throwing and walking. Two or three meets are held throughout the season at S.A. Athletic Stadium on Sundays and we do have the occasional Friday night twilight meet.

A Tiny Tot program is run for 3 and 4 year old children, where a friendly and fun environment is made for them to learn through skill based games.

Competitions are held through Little Athletics South Australia for Under 9 and older athletes – State Relay Championships, Multi Event Championships, State Challenge Day and the pinnacle State Individual Championships.

The winter season runs from May to July and is held all over South Australia. Athletes compete in one long distance run, held on Sundays, at different courses around metro and country Adelaide. Athletes must compete in 3 events to be able to attend the Cross Country Championships, where Under 9 and older athletes compete for trophies.

Junior and Senior Athletics (as well as Masters) is available for athletes 12 years and older, for athletes of a variety of ages and abilities.

Registrations can cover the summer and winter season, however if a particular event or season suits
you, you can choose a modified or once off registration. The summer season runs from October
through to April.

Competitions are held at SA Athletic Stadium (Mile End) that cater for athletes from recreational through to elite participants.  All regular track and field events are offered – running, jumping, throwing and walking.

Throughout the winter season, road running, cross country running and race walking is offered to all registered athletes.

Coaching is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all club members – regardless of age or ability.
